KiwiRail CEO Peter Reidy will lead the discussion by sharing his experience of a worker engagement initiative that won an award at the 2017 NZ Workplace H&S Awards.
The initiative was a co-operative effort with the Rail and Maritime Transport Union, and was led by a High Performance-High, Engagement team made up of employees, managers, union delegate and technical experts.
Peter will talk about the High-Performance, High-Engagement strategy KiwiRail has implemented to engage frontline workers to improve day-to-day work practices impacting on productivity, customer service, safety and employee skill-development.
This event will be an excellent opportunity for leaders to share experiences and have an open discussion on what it take takes to achieve genuine worker engagement.
It will also be timely, given that the new government has indicated it wants to strengthen legal requirements to involve workers in health and safety.
